Mrs. Beckham denies that DVB is a fashion flop

Former Spice Girls star Victoria Beckham has denied her recent fashion ventures have been a disappointment - insisting her DVB brand is “going from strength to strength”.Beckham was recently at the centre of rumours that her label was in crisis after she announced her new range of dresses would not be shown on the catwalk at the upcoming New York Fashion Week - but in small private viewings. The singer’s DVB denim range also came under fire earlier this year (08) after Los Angeles boutique Kitson dropped the brand - citing poor sales and a lack of promotional activity from the star. But Beckham is adamant that her fashion business is doing well - blaming the media for putting a negative spin on her style exploits.
She says, “There are always people out there waiting for us to fail. But I don’t let that deter me. I’m a perfectionist and I’m good at what I do. Career-wise, the opportunities and success I’ve had this year are outstanding. My brand’s going from strength to strength.”

Has-been, er…actress Shannen Doherty, best known for her role as Brenda in 90210, was spotted having a night out in Malibu on September 1st, while wearing a Ksubi micro mini denim skirt with ankle boots. Thanks to one of our readers who identified that the skirt is made by Ksubi. Other blogs are calling these photos of Shannen “amazing”, are we the only ones who’ll tell it like it is? Girlfriend needs to trade her druken nights out for some beauty rest, some self-tanner, and colors that don’t completely wash her out! Yikes! The only thing that works is the skirt!
Anyway, speaking of 90210, the new 90210 series starts tonight. Do you think it will be as highly rated as the original? Will you watch it?

Here she is on September 1st, leaving an acting coach’s home in her Juicy Couture High Waisted Patch jeans in Tulip wash, which are different than the Wide Leg pair she wore recently, while sporting a Juicy Couture Diaper Bag too. Who else thinks Juicy Couture sent mama a pretty nice gift set after the baby? Ah, celebs are so lucky that they get “gifted” jeans from all the designers! I would love to have some of those hand-me-downs!

US Weekly’s latest edition features an article on some hot new denim brands to watch for, above. They include these hot new brands:
- Dégaine, as worn by Jennifer Aniston. We like the Dégaine Slim Bootcut Jean in Rinse. They have styles for men and women, you can find them at Revolve.
- PRPS. They hardly seem like a “new” brand to watch for, but Katie Holmes wearing them for two weeks straight has really put the brand in the spotlight. If you really want to be like Katie, who wore Tom’s PRPS jeans, buy the men’s version of the jeans, available at eModa.
- PRVCY. We told you about Prvcy denim, recently worn by Miley Cyrus, and also says US Weekly, by Eva Longoria. We like Miley’s PRVCY Premium’s “Monaco” jeans
. Prvcy is available at ShopHarmony Lane.
- Divine Rights of Denim. Worn by Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge, this brand is available at Dillards and is relatively inexpensive.
One that we think US Weekly forgot is Current/Elliott, which is one of the main brands to bring back the boyfriend jean. You can find Current/Elliott at ELuxury.
