The popular Los Angeles based denim brand Frankie B., responsible for creating the low-rise craze and putting a spotlight on rock inspired premium denim, strengthens its positioning in the oversaturated marketplace by adding new categories, altering the fit, and expanding its size range to include waist sizes from 23 – 32. A Petite division is scheduled to launch in stores in late April.

After 11 years in business, the brand has successfully weathered a strained economy by adapting to the demands of a broad customer base while remaining true to its original design vision emulating rocker style from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Creator Daniella Clarke made the decision to cater to this new customer by altering the fit of the jean, raising the back rise and expanding the size range to anchor both spectrums of the market ultimately increasing her fan base and boosting sales. The core denim collection is supplemented by the introduction of best-selling novelty items such as leggings or jeggings accounting for 50% of the brand’s overall sales. The item returns in various styles and fabrications for Fall 2010

including the classic skinny and ruched styles in denim, and non-denim basics, prints and shine. The legging also appears in a motocross version, cropped with side zipper, and eyelet lace-up among others. Other styles for Fall include a skinny cargo, slim bootcut, and side seam short. The suggested retail pricepoint ranges from $109.00 for a basic skinny jean to $195.00 for one that is distressed and embellished.
