Top 5 Denim Trends for Spring

1. Colored Denim

Whether it’s brightly colored reds and greens or pale pinks, colored denim is everywhere this season. Brands like Rag & Bone and J Brand are offering a variety of fun colored jeans, which can easily be dressed up or down. You can also check out the Steal Her Style post on colored denim.

2. White Denim

White denim has been a trend for quite a few seasons and is still going to be big for this upcoming Spring. It looks fresh and crisp and the perfect contrast to the colored denim trend. For more ideas you can read Lorna’s post about this trend here.

3. Wide Leg and Flares

Although wide leg and flare jeans have been gaining popularity, this spring they’re going to be the new go to jean. Luckily, this is a style that flatters pretty much every body type. The 7 For All Mankind Georgia Trouser Jean, J Brand’s Bette Jeans and MiH Marrakesh jeans are already celebrity favorites!

4. Patchwork

First making their debut on the Ralph Lauren Spring/Summer 2011 runway and most recently seen on the Chloe Fall/Winter 2012 runway, this trend is still a popular one and will certainly continue to be into the summer. Textile by Elizabeth and James makes some great distressed options. You can also read my Steal Her Style: Patchwork Denim post for more ideas on ways to wear this trend.

5. Tie Waist Jeans

For a more casual look, Tie Waist jeans are comfortable but still stylish. This trend is especially popular for shorts and skirts and looks great with blouses and tops tucked in to really showcase the waist. Designers like Current/Elliott and 7 For All Mankind both have tie waist styles.
