This season the Maison Scotch Amsterdams Blauw Spring Summer 2014 collection celebrates all the cool features of an endless summer through the eyes of their indigo girl. The brand set out to discover places that let you escape from everything and travel in style. They have three different themes for this look book, summer in the city, Nevada grunge and Hawaiian mirage. SUMMER IN THE CITY
For Spring/Summer 2014, sophisticated city dwellers combine great fitting iconic styles – such as a buttoned up denim shirt or Breton stripes – with feminine sportswear. Think baseball sweaters and bomber jackets, a silk tank top with lace details, knackered out jeans and high heels. Clean, crisp and luxurious. And we’re doubling up denim this summer, which is a piece of cake with all the different new washes we developed. It is all about that perfect pale-blue shade! We named them ÔÇÿFresh Air’, ÔÇÿBlanc de Blancs’, ÔÇÿBelle Blue’ and ÔÇÿIvory’ and treated our low rise skinny Parisienne, boyfriend fit Le Gar├ºon and high rise dark skinny Haut with these washes.
NEVADA GRUNGE
Leave the city behind and come as you are, as long as it’s in denim! The grunge look is given an update with skinnies with zip details for a bit of metal and foil printed tees. Think acid washed
and fully embroidered denim jackets and shorts for a modern take on punk styling. Maison bleached and coloured and destructed and repaired favourites like Parisienne and La Bohemienne to make them look as if they’ve been worn at festivals for weeks. Combined with ÔÇÿMidnight Run’, an acid washed, embroidered and garment sprayed denim trucker jacket in black and white, you’ll survive any festival.
HAWAIIAN MIRAGE
This is where we add some holiday flavour when our Maison girl travels to tropical getaways. Bold colours, clashing prints and knockout accessories echo in this colourful summer. Vibrant, and just a little bit bonkers, like the digital allover printed skinny La Parisienne ÔÇÿAquarium’ and the brand new slim boyfriend fit Le Petit Ami in coloured denim.
Check out Maison’s lightweight allover printed tunic and pair it with the allover flock printed white La Bohemienne in ÔÇÿVelvet Underground’ and heels, or, when temperatures rise, just bare legs and a pair of sandals will do! Highlight of the collection; the introduction of two tone bleach, applied to the Gar├ºon fit and Marie shorts.
