3×1 Store at 15 Mercer Street

While in New York, I got the chance to check out the 3×1 store at 15 Mercer Street. It was a denim lover’s dream and offers a truly unique denim experience. When you first walk in, there is a wall covered in bolts of denim from around the world. There are over a hundred different fabrics, in a variety of washes and weights, from which you can choose to customize a pair. Everything is done on site including the tailoring, which you can watch them work on through a window enclosed room.

For those who don’t want to have a pair made from scratch, there are also a variety of fits and cuts available, for both men and women, that can be customized on site. While I was there, I picked out a pair of dark wash skinny jeans for customization. After deciding on a length and having them marked for hemming, I was able to select my hardware from a variety of different options (I chose a red button and grommets). There are also a wide variety of options for thread colors and fabrics for pocket linings. After I made my selections, off to the tailors they went. Not more than 15 minutes later, my customized jeans were back in my hands.

For those who are interested in the brand’s current lines, it is also available in store for purchase. I took a couple of photos of some of my favorite pieces from the current women’s collection. One of my favorite pairs, is a pair of skinny jeans with tuxedo stripes on the interior seam. Not only is this a unique take on the trend but it is also very flattering!

If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend checking out the store. It is a truly unique experience and you can really appreciate how much 3×1 loves denim and values all of the details that go into making a great pair of jeans.
