Denim Review: 7 For All Mankind The Skinny Legging in Garden Party

I’ve loved 7 For All Mankind’s Garden Party print for a long time, so I was excited to review these jeans! First off, they’re called the second skin legging for a reason! They definitely run on the slimmer side. I got a 30 (I usually wear a 29 or 30) in these and they fit very snugly, like leggings. If you’re looking for more of a skinny jean feel, I’d say size up.

While these do fit on the slimmer side, one thing that is great about them is they’re really stretchy. They are a 98% cotton 2% spandex blend, so they are very stretchy and comfortable. They do stretch a little with wear, but don’t lose their shape or sag after wearing them for a day. Because of the fabric content, they are very thin and less denim-like. The fabric is also mainly cotton, so these have started to pile slightly where my bag rubbed against them during wear.

While these fit similarly to leggings, they do have the jeans look with 2 back pockets and two front pockets. The back pockets are a good size, not too small or large, so they are flattering. The front pockets are a bit small, the inside of the pocket doesn’t go very deep, but I can see why they are designed this way because any sort of pocket liner would show through the fabric on the front of the legs.

These have a 29.5″ inseam and are supposed to be a bit more of a cropped fit. I usually wear at least a 33″ inseam and these hit me right above my ankles (slightly shorter than the stock picture). I usually prefer longer inseams, but I think these are a flattering length and I think they would work well for people who wear a variety of different inseams.

The main thing that drew me to these was the print. It’s even more gorgeous in person! The print is very abstract and colorful, and has a good mix of bright blue and pinks, but also more subtle greens. The interior of the pants is white, which sort of contrasts the bold print. I tried to wear them with a small cuff at the ankles, but the contrast with the white looks a bit awkward.

Overall, I think the print on these is a definitely a statement. They’re a little bolder than things that I normally wear, but they are surprisingly versatile and look good with black or a bolder color like pink. Although the fabric is a bit thinner than I would prefer, the fit is flattering and comfortable.
