Denim Review: Current/Elliott The Ankle Skinny in Royal Blue

This week I am reviewing Current/Elliott’s The Ankle Skinny in Royal Blue. I’ve had these for almost a year and I was initially drawn to them for the really bright blue color.

These are the Ankle Skinny style and have a 30″ inseam which hit me right at my ankles, which I like. In terms of sizing, I got these in a size 30 and initially, I thought the fit was on the slimmer side. These fit tightly and have a slimmer leg opening and are very similar to jeggings. The fabric on these is thinner than other pairs of Current/Elliott jeans that I own, but still comfortable. However, I do think that thinner fabric is common with colored jeans.

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve had these for quite some time, and I wear them a couple of times a year. Over the course of owning these, they have stretched out significantly, in the waist, as well as the thighs and butt, so I almost wish I had gone down a size. Additionally, I have noticed that they’ve started to fade slightly.

One thing I’ve noticed with most Current/Elliott jeans is that they tend to have pockets that are on the larger side, compared to a lot of other brands, and I think that is true for this pair as well. They’re well centered and I think they are flattering as well.

Overall, I would say these jeans fit more closely to jeggings than skinny jeans, but do offer a flattering fit. I would be aware that they do stretch a lot and may be worth going down a size. Have any of you tried these jeans?
