Denim Review: J Brand Bette in Navy

This week I am reviewing J Brand’s Bette jeans in Navy. I am a big fan of J Brand’s Lovestory jean, but with the wide leg and high-rise, these have a definitive 70’s vibe, and are unlike anything else I own.

I chose the navy color, which is a very rich dark blue, almost black color, which pairs well with a lot of different things. I have owned these jeans for a few months, wearing them regularly, and I have not noticed any fading. The fabric is a bit of a mix between twill and denim. They are thicker in weight, but very soft and stretchy, so they’re comfortable. They also don’t stretch out too much and keep their shape very well.

I purchased a size 29 and they fit snugly through the hips, waist, and knee. They begin to flare right at the knee, and are slightly wider than my J Brand Lovestory.

I usually wear a 34″ inseam and these have a 35″ inseam, which is exactly long enough without dragging on the ground. Because of the high waist, these make my legs look really long, which I love! The bottom also has a wider 1″ hem, which I think adds a nice detail and finish the the leg.

Another nice detail is the flat front pockets. The front has 2 flat pockets, which are only an inch or so below the belt loops. I think that this draws the eyes up toward the waist. They are also located on the front center, which are flattering and slimming. The back pockets are similar in shape, lower and slightly larger. They are centered at the back and because of their size, are also flattering.

Overall, I really like these jeans. The dark navy wash is very versatile and flattering. If you’re looking for a pair of wide leg or high rise (or both) jeans, I think this pair would be a flattering option for a variety of different body types. You can buy J Brand online at JBrandJeans.com.
