Denim Review: Koral Los Angeles Healy Skinny Jeans in Faded Blue

My denim review this week is on the Koral Los Angeles Healy Skinny Jeans in Faded Blue. You already know that I am a huge fan of Koral, but I have only really tried their skinny jeans, so it was a nice change trying out one of their moto pairs that I saw during their press day last year!

My first thoughts on these were all positive as I loved the wash, the knee detailing and the zippers and one of the most surprising things for me was the fact that the knee stitching actually hits my knees! Too many times with moto jeans I’m left with the placement hitting below my knees which looks off because I have shorter legs, so these get a bonus from me for being suitable for shorter ladies!

They also feature slanted hip zippers which add a unique touch to them and are quite flattering as they follow the curve of the front pockets. The ankle zippers are on the outerseam and actually help quite a bit in lengthening the legs if you have them slightly open to hit over your foot. In terms of the knee detailing, there are two stitched lines which curve at the top of the knee and the bottom of the knee and go right the way across, encasing your knees. Then in the middle of those is a smaller stitched line going all the way across and then 2 stitched lines which only go a small amount of the way over on each side. These details are pretty interesting and different to most moto jeans actually.

Now I’ve mentioned all of the details, the fit of the jeans is a lot like their classic skinny jeans. They are slim all the way down and the back pockets are placed perfectly to be flattering and that’s something I love about Koral. Unlike their 24 Months and Merlot washes though, these are more of a stiffer denim with less stretch. They are closer to a normal pair of jeans I would say. They are in no way restrictive or uncomfortable, but in comparison to the super stretchy jeans that are now common, these feel more structured and thicker. This actually works well with a moto jean. I did take a size 27 in these which is my normal size and they are slightly tighter than my other two washes, but that’s purely due to them not being as stretchy. They are a mix of cotton and elastane and the length of them is about 29 inches, with a 7.5 inch rise and a leg opening of 9 inches.

The wash is a really deep blue as you can see and it has lighter areas on the thighs and knees. It definitely suits the jean and when I saw these at the press day they also come in a primary red. I think these would look amazing in black or grey too! In terms of my opinion of them, I do think they are really cool and like I said, they fit me well in the knees and are flattering all over, but my favourite pair of moto jeans still is my James Jeans moto skinnies in Black Out. Those have been my favourite for years and probably will still remain my favourite! I also have those in a dark blue and they are just as beautiful. So these are not my favourites, but they are a really nice jean which I definitely plan on wearing again! Buy these jeans online by clicking here.
