Carrying the concept over from the Spring 2018 men’s collection – which was full of laminated denim and plastic wrapped pieces – the Fall version is a more muted take.
Modeled in their signature ’90s cut, these jeans are just denim pressed in plastic with no text. Mocking the look of vinyl styles that are still having a moment, Balenciaga went full dad aesthetic with these jeans.
In true Balenciaga form, the wash is designed with the keenest eye for authenticity. Though they didn’t want to just release another vintage inspired style that you can find anywhere. The team at fashion house chose an unconventional technique of laminating to give the style new life…or some preservation.
This technique adds sheen that the will put the coated styles of the past to shame. It also gives rigidity to the jeans that works well with the cut and overall creating an effect that is intriguing.
