Take Your Denim Into Spring

I always struggle getting outfits together when the seasons change. I’m still in the previous season’s mentality and I have a few trends I want to try for the new season but I almost can’t figure out how to do it. It’s like all of my fashion senses are short circuiting and I can’t stop them. A lot of this might have to do with my geographical location which is the land of perfect weather all year round (for the most part), Los Angeles. Whenever it gets cold out here I freeze up and can’t dress myself appropriately because the day before I was in Summer clothes. With that being said, I have a few examples of how to easily transition your denim from Winter outfits into Spring outfits. I tried to get a warm piece of clothing in the mix and of course you can always throw a jacket on top of these looks.

This look takes boyfriend jeans out from under big, oversized coats and into a lighter look. Pair a crew neck sweater with your favorite pair of boyfriend jeans, slap a chunky heel on your feet, some sunglasses and accessories and you’re ready to go.

If you haven’t noticed by now I’m REALLY into the sporty trend. For one, it’s giving all of our poor little feet a break from those hurtful heels and for two, it’s a fun trend to play around with. In this one I added a pop of color through the purse but kept the rest of the look to a chic black and white palette. A long sleeve tee and leather jacket for warmth and you can’t go wrong with a cat eye, which brings a little femininity to the look.

Lastly we have the overall trend that has taken us all the way from Fall through Winter and is ready for Spring in the form of shorts. The sweater, beanie and socks are not only super cute but will also keep you warm on those chilly Spring days, and let’s face it, a backpack is always a good idea.
