Maison Margiela is a label that is not afraid of going against the grain. Though more tamed than the main line, MM6 still goes by the same approach by pushing the boundaries on what is contemporary. Whether it’s details or cuts, the MM6 line will revisit past styles and infuse their personality into them like they have done with these new wide-leg jeans.
The wide-leg jeans with a tie waist is something that we have seen before, but they are usually kept pretty standard in a chino type of style. MM6 has given them a more elevated take without taking away from the casual feel. Cut out of 100% cotton, the style is more heavy duty than its chambray predecessors and true the labels love for unique detailing, camp pockets in the front were chosen over the usual trouser style. Another detail is the fold over slits that allows this jean to be flattering for many heights.
It’s a style that I can see someone from Ashley Olsen to Kate Bosworth wearing with flats to Rihanna edging them up with sneakers.
