3 Ways to Wear: R13 Trucker Cape

The Trucker Cape by R13 is definitely a very forward piece to have in your closet. Though unique, I find that it is a great piece for the coming spring season. Which is why I chose the jacket to style three different ways this month. You can see how I styled the it below.

I wanted to do a really clean casual look with this one here, yet one that still had a bit of edge to it. I chose to pair the cape with a dress by Helmut Lang. I found that the clean lines and length of it works really well when paired with the cape and high-top green Vans. As this is a look that I pictured to be worn on a casual day out, I wanted accessories that also carried that same vibe. I finished it with a backpack by Opening Ceremony to carry your belongings and a pair of Ray-Ban aviators to add that bit of classic cool to the look.

This look popped into my head when I first thought about styling it. The idea of it paired with some classic black trousers, like these by J Brand, felt like a natural combination to me. As I felt the shape of the cape lends a more street cool to it, I wanted a shoe that had that same aspect and the original Adidas Superstar sneakers are just hat. They are perfect for the pants whether they are bunched at the ankles a bit or more cropped. I then added a classic t shirt by FRAME for its fit and drape. Like the look above, I wanted to keep accessories simple and finished it off with rings by Margiela. They help elevate the look without taking away from the overall feel.

For this look here, I wanted to do something that could carry on past spring and into the warmth of Summer. My first thought was a skirt and this A.L.C. one is perfect for just that. It is lightweight and in a print that is so fresh for the new season. With the idea of warm weather still in mind, I chose a classic white tank by T by Alexander Wang. The simple piece helps bring the vibe into fruition. Warm weather is nothing without a great pair of sandals and these by Schutz add the sense of glamour of a European vacation to the overall look. As a finishing touch, a cuff by Jennifer Fisher to elevate it even more.

-So how many of you are rethinking the edginess of this cape? How many of you are thinking to add a more feminine touch to it?
