Levi’s and Opening Ceremony collaborate

Levi’s and Opening Ceremony have teamed up to release a capsule collection for men and women. The collection will be sold on Levi’s.com, the Flagship store and in Opening Ceremony stores.

“Over the last few years, Opening Ceremony has consistently created and celebrated the freshest and most exciting stories in fashion,” said Joshua Katz, head of collaborations, partnerships and creative concepts at Levi’s. “Our collaboration was really built around a shared desire to celebrate our history, not just by revising it, but rather by reinterpreting it in new and interesting ways.”

“We love to work with heritage brands that have a real history and are experts at what they do,” said Humberto Leon, co-founder of Opening Ceremony. “This particular project is exciting because there are so many avenues we can explore as Levi’s has such a vast and rich past.” Because of the strong heritage, the collaboration between the brands will likely be a seasonal occurrence. The Spring 2010 collection will feature pants cut in corduroy fabric, denim jackets and shirts. Each will come in a variety of spring colors, including, fuchsia, teal, lavender, beige, curry, olive, navy or white.

Prices will start at $105 for shorts to $178 for the jackets. The collection will also be sold at Barneys New York, Fred Segal, Joan Shepp, Colette in Paris, and Liberty in London.
